How inclusive can puteri be after the general assembly

Transformation in UMNO? Puteri badly needs it.

To make it straight to the point, I will say that the point of discussion will be on UMNO's pink themed wing, the Puteri UMNO.

First and foremost, by default, to be able to understand, let alone love an organization requires one to at least know who are the people behind it . Given the blessing of internet, it is almost understood by each organization that existed in this planet earth the importance of an official website. As for Puteri, the website had been absent for months..
So I waited for the website to be up and running, maybe Puteri is having something really great that required them to shut the website down for awhile. Sad to say that, even till the minute I wrote this piece, the website is still not running. As initially thought that it was just a small glitch, I then came to realize that, it is a sign of a bigger disappointment on Puteri UMNO.

So, the official website is down, are you all just going to sit around and frown?

It is known a, understood and agreed upon the importance of letting the world know what had been done in this current political era of the country. The young ones are mostly the ones that are very much engaged with the internet. The power of internet? I think everyone knows it! So why push it aside?

Honestly, I do not know where it went wrong. For someone new, looking for an opening or a way to communicate or at least get to know the Puteri UMNO, I cannnot see it as a friendly organisation that should be part of. Search on facebook will result into two Puteri UMNO group, which 167 and 215 member each. Even a class in a lecture can have more members than that? Where are the members? are they so not on the current track that they do not think facebook is a good medium to communicate with the rest of the world..?

Here are some bitter facts that I would like to share...

Ketua Puteri Umno : Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin
- no profile pic on facebook, I am not sure that it is even an active aacount
- blog? the last updated post dated 2008
- twitter? We couldn't find anyone named Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin

Naib Ketua Puteri UMNO : Shahanim Mohamad Yusoff
- profile pic on facebook is there but profile set to private. Well. no prob with that.. up to your descretion.
- blog? there is a blogger profile with the name but no personal blog. Her blog is Pergerakan Puteri UMNO Kedah.
- twitter? could not find in first search.. may out there somewhere.

A similiar search were done on Azlieza Azizan,Hasspalela Mohammed Hassan and some of the Puteri Excos members.

So main Puteri website is down, but a sneak on the mother wing, Wanita UMNO, it is running and updated.
A peek on the Muslimat PAS? Puteri UMNO is no where!

The issue is almost the same.. the question is, will this UMNO assembly will draw change to the party's wing?

Like it or not, Puteri has to catch up with the current era. If IT literacy is an issue,it is not an excuse. Do not lay lame excuses when all these can be learnt and all it needed is a lilttle effort and the will to improve oneself. why not resolve the issue by helping each other and organizing classes and such. Why not..?

There are plenty of Puteri bahagian blogs out there. fair enough, but does the contributions only stop at bahagian level? Or are there any more contributions other than bahagian level to begin with?? How , how, how, how, how the others out there should know and evaluate the performance of Puteri? If Puteri were to go on like this, it will appear to be more of a liability to the party than an asset for UMNO's future.

Puteri should be more aggresive than what I had been. It is one good medium to bridge the gap with the youth. Bearing in mind that there are more female students in the higher learning intuitions, the more Puteri should grab the opportunity to promote and seize these 'think tanks' to be part of the party as well as active contributors to the nation also UMNO's future. It is never too late for the big guns in Puteri to change and bring change to the entire organization.. for a change to start and happen it must be from the top, and the TPM had voiced his concerned and hope for change in his speech.. it is about time for Puteri embrace the challenge, change and move forward.
